    The promotion and advocacy of indigenous water-gathering techniques and structures is one of GRAVIS's primary approaches to achieving water security. These have been practised for hundreds of years, are easier for people to maintain, and are more environmentally friendly. By using these techniques, even minimal rainfall can have a significant positive impact and provide large amounts of water that can easily meet the needs of the local communities.

    Since education is essential to sustainable development and the self-sufficiency and financial stability of the people living in the villages of the Thar Desert, GRAVIS is actively striving to promote education in these communities.

    The Thar's inhabitants need to be educated using a variety of creative approaches because girls and other oppressed minorities, as well as tribal communities, suffer particular difficulties due to numerous restrictive cultural norms that limit their freedom of movement.
